Assuming that the same meter is being used each try, there are a few possible reasons that boil down to user or mechanical errors. These possible errors could be broken meter, unclean testing area or meter, ineffective alternate site, expired/wrong test strips, blood sample amount, or meter quality. Try to always use the same meter (different meters will yield different results) and test the meter regularly with their corresponding control solution.
